Redding Small Base Body Die 308 Winchester 74155

The Redding 308 Winchester Small Base Body Die is used to resize cases to below minimum SAAMI specifications.  This can be helpful in many situations such as when working with brass fired in a different rifle with a larger chamber.  The regular resizing die may not ‘shrink’ the case sufficiently to fit in a new chamber after ‘spring-back’.   Some rifles have very tight chambers and require the use of a small base die all of the time.  Semi automatic actions or other rifles that close the bolt by spring pressure often require small base sizing for to function reliably.

The Redding Small Base Body Die will only resize the area between the case shoulder and head.  It will not interfere with the case neck.  Neck tension needs to be set with a different tool. A regular 308 Winchester Body die can be found here Redding 308 Winchester Body Die 75155.
