We were asked to stock the Redding Master Hunter Die Set was by a young Match Rifle Shooter. He wanted to invest in good equipment that would last though his shooting career, but did not want to add the complexity of bushing dies to his reloading process. This high quality die set consists of a full length resizing die and the desirable Redding Competition Bullet Seater 308 Winchester 55155. This die set would be great for someone who needs to full length size because of a requirement to reliably feed through a magazine or someone who prefers full length sizing just to obtain an easily closed bolt. The Competition Bullet Seating Die regarded as one of the best available on the market due to its design.
The Competition Bullet Seater with micrometer depth adjustment allows for very fast and accurate bullet seating. The micrometer feature of this die can be set to ‘zero’ anywhere the user desires thus making it very easy to repeat settings after a bullet swap or a test run.
One other special attribute of this die set is the fact that Redding have included a Carbide Sizing Button in the Full Length Sizing Die. The Carbide Button is harder than the standard steel offering and should last longer and be less effected by variations in lubricant on the inside of the case neck.
This die set is representative of the level of equipment many seasoned shooters are currently using to reload their ammunition. In all fairness, the most common first upgrade for people reloading precision ammunition is to swap out the standard bullet seating die with a micrometer adjustable competition grade bullet seating die. Once you try the micrometer die that is actually designed to support the bullet in line with the case, you will never use the standard die again. It sits on a shelf forever. This die set just prevents that situation.
Purchasing the set is more economical that purchasing the dies separately.
