The RCBS Precision Mic 88329 308 Winchester performs two measurements; chamber headspace and bullet seating depth.
In the first instance, the RCBS Precision Mic is used to measure the distance from the datum point on the shoulder to the base of the fired case. This is an important reference measurement that allows the user to determine the correct sizing die adjustment for their chamber.
In the second instance, the RCBS Precision Mic is used to measure the distance from the bolt face to the beginning of the rifling. This operation is done with the insert included with the tool. This measurement is then used to determine bullet seating depth.
The micrometer fitted to this tool is accurately engraved and inlayed with white paint so as to make it very readable.
This RCBS 88329 is meant to be used with the 308 Winchester Cartridge.
